MusiConnect 2.2 expands technology
New features let you play more music than ever
December 01, 2008

PianoDisc has expanded its MusiConnect technology with a new version called MusiConnect 2.2.  It allows the PianoDisc system to play more music than ever before.

New in MusiConnect 2.2 is General MIDI support and “AlwaysPlay”, technologies that let the customer sample, play, and enjoy MIDI files from a huge variety of sources.

While iTunes has no native support for MIDI files, MusiConnect can

import any General MIDI file and convert it into a format that iTunes

does understand. Once MusiConnect imports music into iTunes, the customer can burn a CD, sync their music with an iPod, or even play their music directly from the computer (depending on the configuration).

MusiConnect supports both “Type 0” and “Type 1” MIDI files. In fact,

it can even convert non-piano parts to audio so that accompanying orchestration can be heard through speakers.

Many MIDI files that are available on the Internet do not even have a piano part.  This is where PianoDisc’s AlwaysPlay comes in.  It examines those piano-less files and chooses a part for the piano to play. So no matter what song is chosen, even if it didn’t have a piano performance to start with, AlwaysPlay ensures that the piano will have a part to play!

As always, MusiConnect 2.2 significantly simplifies the process of

importing PianoDisc music into iTunes. MusiConnect 2.2 automatically

converts music to the correct format, creates a playlist for every album, names the tracks and albums, and adds cover art (when available). MusiConnect 2.2 can even retrieve purchases from the PianoDisc store, as well as process PianoSync albums.

MusiConnect 2.2 makes it easy to harness the power of iTunes for use with the PianoDisc system. MusiConnect 2.2 is free, and can be downloaded from www.PianoDisc.com or go straight to MusiConnect  Instructions.
